Essential oils offer so many benefits and while they are generally safe alternatives to support the immune system, there are some essential oils that are recommended for children to avoid if under the age of 10. Here I highlight immunity essential oil blend recipes that are kid-friendly ages 2 and over.
I choose to settle for nothing less than absolute safety when it comes to my children, and I know many parents agree with this statement.
Essential Oil Safety for Kids
In a recent post for homemade thieves oil recipe, I mentioned that it is not recommended for children under 10 years old. It is because the oils in the blend (except lemon) pose potential adverse reactions in young children.
It is still OK to clean your home with the DIY thieves blend, and even diffuse in a room your child isn't in. It is not recommended to be applied topically to kids though, especially near the face, and it should not be ingested.
I got a few questions about what alternatives can be used for kids, so I am sharing safe immunity essential oil blend recipes for children.
I am not here to say you can't use thieves, eucalyptus, or on guard on your children. Being a parent, you should determine what is best for your children and what essential oils you feel comfortable applying to your child.
