DIY Stain Remover For Clothes

Posted by Jennifer Lane on

If you have kids, you know a good stain remover for clothes is a necessity.  My boys love playing outside which is great, but their clothes suffer. In my quest for all natural home and beauty products, I came to find a natural stain remover that does what it says!!

So skip the store and whip up a batch of this stain-fighting spray instead. You just need castile soap, vegetable glycerin, water and lemon essential oil.  You will also need a glass spray bottle, which makes it easy to apply this recipe to stained items, you just have to spray it on.  This is a plus because if you are pressed for time and a stain happens, just grab the spray and spritz away!

Lemon oil has many benefits and uses, stain-fighting is just one of them.  Lemon essential oil is a great stain remover, even on grease and gum.

Spray works best if the stain has not already been washed and dried.  Once washed and dried the stain is usually pretty set into the fabric.

If you have an old, set in stain, you can try lemon essential oil directly on the stain.  Then immediately wash the item in the wash machine.  If you pretreat and let the lemon oil sit there, it could discolor the fabric yellow.  So, don't do that.  Only apply lemon oil directly on fabric if you are ready to wash the item immediately.
