One fabulous way to use your essential oils is with homemade creams & lotions. This recipe is a moisturizing Lavender Hand & Cuticle Cream. It is wonderful for restoring dry or chapped hands. It only requires 3 ingredients and doesn't take long to make.
When I first started making homemade products, creams & lotions were something I avoided making, they just seemed too involved. I finally got up enough nerve to try one and guess what, it was easier than I thought.
Now I LOVE making creams and lotions. So I challenge you if you have never made a cream before, give this recipe a go, you will not be disappointed!
Besides lavender essential oil, you will need beeswax and virgin coconut oil for this recipe.
This recipe makes one 2 oz jar, perfect trial size. You can also try different essential oils in the cream if you prefer. If you like the small batch then you may want to opt for a large batch.
This cream makes a wonderful gift, it is so luxurious and amazing that your recipients will love it. They will never know how easy it was for you to make, shh... that's our secret :)
Lavender Hand & Cuticle Cream Recipe
1. Place beeswax and coconut oil in pyrex glass measuring cup (as pictured above), then place cup in pan with about 2 inches of gently boiling water. Stir occasionally.
2. Once melted, remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.
3. Add essential oil in and blend well.
4. Pour mixture into jar and let cool until harden before use.
Get a small amount and rub onto hands & cuticle. Best to use a clean spatula to scoop out to avoid getting germs into your cream. Keep the lid on when cream is not in use. Lasts up to 6 months. If not actively using the jar, you may want to store in refrigerator to keep fresh.
